Remember hope? I’m here to report that it’s back and better than ever.

And I should know. Because I spent a half-dozen years here on Medium writing satirically about the doom and despair that I saw everywhere and that seemed to be consuming everyone on the planet.

But, now, even I’m sick of hearing myself opine about the unhappy state of the country and the world, satirically or not.

Sure, on the surface, things still look bleak: violent conflicts raging everywhere; political turmoil and polarization impeding progress; climate carelessness and destruction freaking us all out; extraterrestrials surreptitiously seeding our best virgins to breed a mutant, master race intent on liquidating mankind.

It’s total chaos out there, right?
