I’ve wrestled with the same questions and my tone has varied in the 8 months I’ve been posting daily.

Ultimately, I come out on this side of the satire equation, a quote from the British activist, Maajid Nawaz.

“Satire is, by definition, offensive. It is meant to make us feel uncomfortable. It is meant to make us scratch our heads, think, do a double-take, and then think again.” — Maajid Nawaz

So while you might call my writing “purgatorial,” I like to think of it as just offensive enough to get people thinking.
