I get it. I wrote a piece about my tyrannical father after he died, focused on the misery he caused his children, and it ended up in the Boston Globe Sunday magazine. An entire east coast of relatives read it and I lost some of them over that. But my sisters felt redeemed. And I got hundreds of letters from readers who were similarly affected in productive ways. It’s a trade-off speaking the truth, but in the end, there is no alternative.

Thanks again.
