Republican strategists worried about frontrunner Donald Trump’s ability to beat Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election think they have a potential king slayer in their midst.
They’ve been eyeing none other than Jacob Chansley, the “QAnon Shaman,” who became famous for his outsized outfit and televised antics during the January 6, 2020 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
He’s a “perfect candidate who checks all the boxes,” says Mark Lavendish, a respected Republican strategist who has worked for GOP candidates in the past four presidential contests. “Chansley has the notoriety, popularity, insurrectionist cred, and criminal record to take on and defeat Trump in the primaries.”
