“Millions of Americans are stunned by this recurring Biden/Trump nightmare, a sickening political loop we can never seem to get out of,” said Reed Hastings, founder of Netflix. “So we figured if we have to relive this fucking nightmare over and over, we might as well add some musical comedy to the tragedy.”

Hastings said that both Biden and Trump were eager to sign the deal. “Biden just wanted to be in a movie before he died, plus it came with a nice payday. Trump was easier. The media hungry, narcissistic megalomaniac always wants to get his face in front of a camera, so he signed for a few thousand dollars.”

Although Rotten Tomatoes is already predicting a 2% audience score for the dark, musical comedy, Netflix says they’ll proceed with an accelerated production schedule, aiming for an early September release of Groundhog Day, The Musical.

“We do have an ulterior motive,” added Hastings. “With any luck, both of the candidates will suck so bad in the film, audiences will universally reject them, paving the way for a much younger candidate, one with a pulse, to step in and win the election by write-ins.”
